Laser Scanning Surveyor Trainee - West Coast-based (U.S.A)

A laser scanning technician's primary function is to capture LIDAR scan data at client locations on-site using laser scanners and survey tools. This position will also coordinate project execution to deliver all the client's requests serving as project manager.

This position requires work directly with our customers on the west coast of the USA to perform surveying and reality capture. Reality Capture is an on-site process that captures, measures, and maps millions of surface points to build textured high-resolution precision 3D models and 2D Drawings of a site, building, or construction project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site 3D Laser Scanning.
  • Manage scan data. 
  • Travel Frequently to client sites.
  • Communicate on a daily basis with project managers.
  • Work as a reliable team player with your managerial counterparts.

What you will do on a day-to-day basis

  • Coordinate time and crucial data for each Lss project.
  • Receive and classify projects from all kinds of sources and scopes of work.
  • Have fluid communication within the team to organize the day-to-day activities.
  • Work independently as a one-person crew as required.
  • Mobilize scanners and survey tools for active projects.
  • Capture scan data on-site using scanners and survey tools.
  • Document on-site field notes.
  • Maintain proper care of the company and ensure security and safety for all equipment and accessories.
  • On-Site Local & National Travel Required.
  • Professionalism & Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills.

  • Must have a technical background and be interested in technology. 
  • Being fluent in English.
  • Professional communication skills to manage relationships with team members, owners, and customers. 
  • Work independently as a one-person crew as required.

Qualifications

  • 3D Laser Scanning experience is a big plus.
  • Computer and technical skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.  
  • Must be willing to travel. (mon-Fri) 
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Language: Must be able to communicate in fluent English.
  • Requires the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and have exceptional organizational and communication skills, maintain project accuracy, and the ability to work directly with clients.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting (50-75 pounds), bending, reaching, climbing, walking, crawling, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, speaking, sight, and/or hearing to complete field duties outlined in this job description. 
  • The ability to work under various field conditions at client sites is required.
